REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - Walmart has awarded Rehoboth in Bloom $1,000, the organization's first grant of the 2020 season.

During spring 2019, volunteers planted flowers outside of businesses on the first blocks of Rehoboth, Wilmington, and Baltimore avenues.  Those flowers were replaced with fall trees a couple months ago and Rehoboth in Bloom topped them all off with bows for the holidays right after Thanksgiving.

Founder and Chair Cindy Lovett says volunteers are resting up until spring and that the organization needs more volunteers next season to put out 25 planters.

Lovett says Rehoboth in Bloom's grant committee applied for the grant from Walmart and that the organization already knows how to use it.

"We can use it either for planters or we can use it towards flowers," says Lovett. "We can use it for equipment that we need, so believe me it will be put toward a good use." she says.
