MILTON, Del. - On Tuesday, Winter Wonderfest capped off the holiday season and 2019 with a New Years Eve Closing Celebration.

Families came out to enjoy all that Winter Wonderfest’s last day had to offer.

Event director, Peter Briccotto, said this year at their new Hudson Fields location, they had record breaking attendance and their highest-grossing year ever.

Briccotto also says that they were able to give away about $50,000 in grants.

Some ideas are in the works for next year’s Winter Wonderfest.

"Next year we are hoping to do a capital campaign, to actually expand our light show yet again, and keep it growing. And...a lot of folks said they would love to see a merchandise booth and a local vendor with crafts. So we're looking to see if we can put together a craft show as well," said Peter Briccotto.

And this year’s festival received praise from people like the lead singer from Indian River.

"We've been playing this gig for 3 years now and this is by far the best execution that we've ever seen for Winter Wonderfest, it's bigger and brighter just like they say,” said Clifford Keith.

And of course, there was a  spectacular fireworks show to close out the festival and bring in the new year.
