Governor John Carney Speaks at Sussex County Association of Towns
MILLSBORO, Del. - Governor John Carney spoke at the Sussex County Association of Towns meeting on Wednesday night.
"Sussex county very busy we are seeing a lot of growth and we are making sure that we are staying in front of it," says Todd Lawson, the Sussex County Administrator.
The meeting is just ahead of the legislative session, which starts next Tuesday, and senators in attendance touched on important issues like infrastructure, firearms, and budget.
Governor John Carney says the most important thing for this upcoming session is the budget.
When asked about announcing his re-election, Governor Carney says, "I'm really focused on doing the business of our state right now. Getting through January with the State of the State, the budget presentation, [and] engaging the legislature. And once we do those things...the election questions will take care of themselves."
At this time, the Governor did not have a comment on the Fenwick Island State Park's proposed upgrades and offshore wind farm.
He says keeping the economy strong in Sussex County is a priority.
