DOVER, Del.- Workers employed at Legislative Hall have moved to unionize as the General Assembly resumed session, according to a news release issued Tuesday.

A group calling itself Delaware General Assembly Union said a majority of employees who work in non-partisan roles or with the Democratic and Republican caucuses in both the House and Senate announced their intention to unionize.

The news release said it would be a first-of-its-kind partisan-inclusive state legislative union in the country.

"In all four caucuses, our staffers work tirelessly to make Delaware's legislature one of the best in the nation," the release said.

The news release said the union is seeking voluntary recognition from the General Assembly.
