Enlisting in the Army in 1962, he served in Afghanistan, Mexico City, and Vietnam, where he earned the Purple Heart. After 22 years in the military, he seamlessly transitioned to a 20-year career with FEMA, all while pursuing his calling to become a deacon. He was ordained in 2004 and is now a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Carl's life embodies selfless service and profound dedication.
