MARYLAND - The Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs says it will once again join the National Association of Counties on Operation Green Light. The initiative kicked off on Monday. 

Buildings statewide will be illuminated in a green light. Homeowners are invited to illuminate their porches in green as well. 

"Operation Green Light provides governments, businesses, organizations, and every day folks the opportunity to learn more about military culture, about suicide prevention and to learn from veterans about their transition from the military to civilian culture," says Gov. Wes Moore (D) - Maryland.

Operation Green Light runs through Sunday, Nov. 12.

According to the Operation Green Light page, the following municipalities are participating and the following buildings will be lit up.

  • Maryland Governor’s Mansion
  • Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs (Charlotte Hall Veterans Home and Cemeteries & Memorials)
  • Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Headquarters
  • Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development
  • Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration’s Glen Burnie Service Center
  • Maryland Department of Agriculture
  • Maryland State Highway Administration
  • Maryland Environmental Service
  • MTA Downtown Baltimore
  • Maryland Stadium Authority (M&T Bank Stadium and the Warehouse at Camden Yards)
  • Montgomery Park Business Center (Maryland Lottery and Gaming, Maryland Department of the Environment, and Maryland Energy Administration)
  • Maryland Public Television
  • University of Maryland Medical System
  • Aberdeen Proving Ground/Headquarters
  • Fort Meade Headquarters Building
  • VA Maryland Healthcare System
  • Silver Spring Vet Center
