BETHANY BEACH, Del. - A bacteria advisory has been put in effect for Bethany Beach, according to the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
They say the advisory lasts until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 11.
UPDATE, 8/11: The advisory has been lifted.
According to the department, they say the increased levels most likely came from wildlife, like shorebirds, marine mammals, or other warm blooded animals.
They say the advisory level will be lifted when levels are within recreational water limits.
