New Website Allows Delawareans to Access Vaccination Records

DELAWARE - The Delaware Division of Public Health has created a website that allows you to access your immunization records called DelVAX Public Access Portal.

DelVAX can retrieve your COVID-19 vaccination record, child immunizations, and more.

"So DelVAX is the immunization program's information system, so it currently houses immunizations that have been reported to the program,” said Jim Talbott,  director of the Immunization Program at Delaware Division of Public Health.

The website allows people to download their COVID-19 vaccination record, and can be used as proof of vaccination if you don't have your actual CDC card.

"It is not only for COVID, it’s for their kids, it's for them, to show whether or not they need additional immunizations if they are going on a trip to determine whether they have all their vaccinations for wherever they're going,” said Talbott.

The state is still urging vaccines as there have been more breakthrough cases throughout Delaware, though the numbers are much, much smaller than those who are unvaccinated and contracting COVID-19.

At Aspira Health, they are still urging people to get vaccinated for COVID-19 as we head into the school year.

"I would say a fifth of the cases that we test here, it is a small number ... The people that are getting breakthrough infections while vaccinated, are having much milder symptoms,” said Christie Whitlock, Family Nurse Practitioner at Aspira.

DPH also reveals that 99 percent of the 161 samples they recently tested were identified as the delta variant, this comes as Labor Day Weekend concludes and the school year begins.

“Anytime that we have large groups of people, that risk of spread does occur, we are anticipating an uptick, hopefully it doesn't happen but we are here and ready to test,” said Whitlock.

Aspira is offering walk ups and appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations and tests.
