DelDOT says drivers should be prepared for potential damage as the day progresses.

SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. - According to DelDOT, around 24 trees were cleaned up from roadways in Sussex County since early this morning. Despite the worst of the storm being over, DelDOT says there are still some closures to be aware of:

  • Horsey Church Road between Sharptown Road and Chandler Road
  • Woodland Ferry Road between Ellis Mill Road and Bowman Road
  • Woodland Road between Woodland Ferry Road and Lonesome Road
  • Steiner Road between Hollis Road to Lewes Georgetown Highway
  • Betts Pond Road
  • Hollyville Road between Hurdle Ditch Road to Zoar Road

DelDOT also says that the Georgetown Division of Motor Vehicles is currently closed due to a power outage caused by the storm. This is likely to cause a change in its hours of operation.

DelDOT says drivers should be prepared for potential damage as the day progresses. If you do see a tree down or flooded roads, DelDOT asks that you report the sighting to #77.
