Local restaurant temporarily shuts down due to health concerns

On Wednesday, October 26th, Shrimpy's Bar and Grill on Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach was temporarily closed by the Delaware Health and Social Services Department

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - On Wednesday, October 26th, Shrimpy's Bar and Grill on Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach was temporarily closed by the Delaware Health and Social Services Department. The restaurant posted on their Facebook page that they would be temporarily closed for the next few days due to "unforeseen circumstances". Since the closure, workers could be seen cleaning equipment.

Jordan Keener, who works at Beach Tans and Hair Designs, says he was shocked by the closure and was a regular customer to the restaurant. Keener witnessed the moment workers found out about the closure.

"I knew something was up because they were all pacing back and forth, and they looked like they were worried about something." Keener continued, " I did not know about them shutting down until this morning, I got here and looked at the sign on the door."

Shrimpy's is not the first restaurant on the coast to be shut down temporarily due to health code violations. Other restaurants that have been in violation with the health department can be found on this website.
