However water flooded his yard up to the deck, leaving things like his gazebo and shed in the pool surrounding his home.

Dave Mickel who lives in Harbeson said this was one of the worst rainfalls he has seen. Ditches were created by the state around his property in the past to help mitigate the flooding that has persisted in his yard for the last several years. "We've had a couple hurricanes and we would get similar water like this but I have never seen so much water come down in such a small amount of time and that's the issue." said Mickel.

Some businesses in Bethany Beach had to close their doors due to the flooding and lack of access. But the blocked roads weren't enough to keep people from venturing into the water filled streets and sidewalks.

Ron Blanck came into town to go to the post office,

"This is a little heavier and higher than most of the flooding we get which we're kind of used to... It's not as bad as it was during Hurricane Sandy though, that really flooded."

An expected inconvenience that many say is just a part of living on the coast.

Some locals in Bethany Beach said they expect flooding to dissipate over the next 3-4 days depending on how heavy the winds persist since there is decent draining downtown.
