The campaign to get people to buy-in to a controversial wind farm project off the Delmarva Coast will continue in June. DNREC is holding a public hearing on June 5, 2024 at Beacon Middle School in Lewes.

Two Republican members of Delaware's General Assembly are hosting a forum on offshore wind energy Wednesday at Indian River High School. Senate Minority Leader Gerald Hocker, who represents District 20, is one of the hosts. His district  includes Dagsboro, Fenwick Island, Bethany Beach, and other communities in southeast Sussex County that are places were alternative energy company U.S. Wind is targeting to use land for transmission lines

The Maryland Department of the Environment hosted a public hearing Monday night to talk about a proposed maintenance pier in West Ocean City.

People on both sides of the offshore wind debate raised their signs in Bethany Beach Tuesday.

The public engagement event will run from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, at Bethany Beach Town Hall.

Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan has taken a definitive stance against proposals by US Wind, a company seeking to establish wind farms off the coast, stating, "Ocean City just is not for sale."

"Not for sale" that's what the town of Ocean City is telling the company U.S. Wind.

Danish offshore wind and renewable energy company Orsted released its 2023 annual report Wednesday, revealing it plans to reduce positions around the world as well as energy generation following a year of negative profits.

Ørsted's Skipjack Wind, a wind farm project in development off the coast of the Delmarva peninsula, has broken ties with the State of Maryland due to unviable renewable energy payments from the state. It is continuing project development and is repositioning for future opportunities, the company announced Thursday afternoon. 

The topic of offshore wind took center stage at Friday's Dewey Beach town council meeting.

The council decided to hold off on a vote to accept US Wind's offer of joining its' benefit program.
