Candidates vying for Milford City Council Wards 1 and 2 seats will make their case during a debate Thursday night. Ward 1 incumbent Mike Boyle is being challenged by restaurant owner Madula Kalesis.

DNREC will be hosting its Annual Youth Fishing Tournament on Saturday, June 1 at 10 a.m. The event is open to anglers aged 4 to 15 years-old across Delaware.

One year ago, an EF-3 tornado ripped through western Sussex County in the early evening hours. The tornado leveled a 120 year old home along Tuckers Rd. in Greenwood. Inside was 77 year-old Dan Bawell who would die during the impact. Bawell was the first person to die from a Delaware tornado in 40 years.

DNREC says that regularly pumping out a septic system, not only prolongs the life of the system but also helps protect surface and ground waters from potential contamination.

Following Thursday's threat situation, the Milford School District is remaining closed on Friday. Milford schools were on lockdown Thursday afternoon and police officers were on scene after receiving a "credible threat" against the district. CoastTV confirmed with the Milford Police Department that 59 year-old, Thomas Caffrey, is being sought in connection to the threats made to the district.

The Milford Police Department says it is attempting to locate Thomas Caffrey, a 59-year-old male from Lincoln DE. Investigators say they want to speak to Caffrey regarding a terroristic threatening incident that occurred within Milford city limits.

According to investigators, they have made several attempts to contact Caffrey, but all have resulted in negative contact.
